El otro día me enteré que el American Film Institute rehizo su lista de las 100 mejores películas americanas. Cuando en el '98 hicieron una lista de fin de siglo, el crítico Jonathan Rosembaum contestó con la propia, bastante más original. Más allá de lo buenas o malas que puedan parecer las seleccionadas por AFI, sonaban a lugares comunes, puestas o por ser éxito de taquilla, o multipremiadas o por snobismo. Años después, Jorge García, crítico de El amante, hizo la suya propia.
Pero este año se ve que algo les pasó y se animaron a poner algo como Sunrise, de Murnau, The last picture show, de Bogdanovich, Sullivan's travels, de Sturges, o Swing Time, magnífico musical de Fred Astaire y Ginger Rogers, bajo la dirección de George Stevens.
Encontré una lista con el actual orden según la votación, y al lado en que puesto se encontraban en el '98, y cuales son nuevas.

Y yo también tengo mi lista, que fui cambiando, emparchando, con películas que vi una vez hace muchísimo, me gustaron y debería rever, o que vi muchas veces, o solo una que vi de algún director, incluso con influencia de algún crítico o alguna que vi porque alguno la nombró y me dio curiosidad.
